Thursday----16th------------9:00 to 1:00--Go to man--Jerry W. ---Thanks Ray G. and Albert W. and Jim H. and my two boys Ryan W. and Mark W. for helping out!------Downspout replaced, threshold repaired, light switch covers replaced and ballasts diagnosed.
Saturday---- 25th------------9:00 to 1:00--Go to man--Jerry W. ----Thanks Mike T., Ryan W. and Mark W. for helping out!---------Decorative iron solidly screwed into window opening. Hymnals relocated. ---Thanks Paul A. for mowing the lawn!

Someone will be at the Church to coordinate projects.----Jerry W. and Brian H. are the co-leaders with Bennet W. and Michael Sch. making up the Building Council.
We are planning to work "half days" with start up time 9 A.M. and quit time around 1:00 P.M. --------------We can get a lot done in 4 hours.---------------------------------------------

We finished the downspout and drain at the northeast side. It looks like it will direct water out and away. Good job boys! Jeffrey W., Ryan W. and Mark W. all worked on this. I'll give you boys a good reference when you are looking for a job!
Some of our door stops are missing the rubber end piece. Does anyone know where we can get more of them? ACE?
We added a 5' piece of downspout to get past these cracks in the side walk. Too late though because it rained heavy on the 14th and wet the basement again. We still want to caulk these cracks soon. I have caulking in the boiler room. Put some foam in the crack and fill it with caulk.
There seems to be a problem with there being a crack in the cement. As far as we can tell (Jim H. and Jerry W.) the water runs in the crack and into the basement. We maybe wrong but it would be safe to put a gutter extension on this until we can look into sealing the crack. Got comments? I will buy a piece if no one has any at home they want to part with.
If anyone has 4' piece of railroad tie they want to get rid of bring it to the church.
We have quite a few of these that need attention. Maybe we could meet every week in the evening for a couple hours. This needs more than just a work day effort. Is there an evening at church that is best for any of you? Wednesday may be good until AWANA. It is easy but tedious. Takes a little training and off you go.
We are entertaining a possible cost effective alternative to replacing ballasts. We may need to consider changing the entire light fixture to a more efficient one. Then we could save electricity and match the ones we have in the rest of the church. The old part of the church has the old style fixtures. We will be discussing this idea more.
Saturday Mike T. and Jeffrey W. went to work to elliminate a potential hazard. The dodge balls-- ( I have heard it said that dodge ball is a religion--should I capitalize it?)--have been knocking the iron cross decoration loose because there is a slot in the iron where the screw goes in to it. Mike drilled a 3/16th hole next to the slot and-- wahla -- safety issue resolved. Thanks guys!

Thanks Mike Sch. Mike's helper and Mark H. for taking care of this drain on the west side of the church. One more to go and then they will all be done!
It has been said that if you want something done ask a busy man. Well, I did. Michael Sch. will be heading up the work "half" day on the 15th. He may need to leave early because he is haying also. He is a farmer too ya know.--------------------------------These are some of the gallon paint cans we have in storage. We want to see what we still use and what we can get rid of.---Lyn L. can help us with that.----------------------------Look at the blog and see what you want to do.---------Bring your own tools to guarantee you can do the project. -Bring your sons and work together--it's fun!------------------------If you can't make it this Sat. then check your schedule for September 12---- Bennet W. will head that one up. 
We have our drainage supplies for the downspout project and one new toilet seat. Life is good!
We dug away the dirt from the downspout on Monday and while I was there on Wednesday it began to rain so I took a picture of the area at the downspout and watched the puddling of water at the northeast corner of the church. Yes, Houston, we have a problem.
What we do after a hard day at the church! YES!
I should ask Kevin or Tim why this comes out so slow. Do we always leave it unplugged.
